The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) and Bank Indonesia launched the book on Zakat Risk Management. This book is a guide for zakat stakeholders throughout the world. Chairman of BAZNAS, Bambang Sudibyo, said this scientific book was finished within 2 years by Puskas BAZNAS and DEKS - Bank Indonesia.
“The great work done by the Center of Strategic Studies (Puskas) BAZNAS is the first in the world, " he said at the IPB Convention Center on Thursday (26/7).”
While, member of BAZNAS Irsyadul Halim added that the book was expected in two versions, Bahasa Indonesia and English.
"Up to this time, the management of zakat has not been optimal both in human resources management and in zakat utilization. There is a responsibility for BAZNAS whose job is to improve zakat operation and activities in Indonesia, "he said.
Director of Puskas BAZNAS, Irfan Syauqi Beik explained, internationally, Zakat Risk Management book will be launched at the World Zakat Forum (WZF) Conference in December 2018 in Malacca, Malaysia.

According to him, one of the approach to optimize the potential of zakat is to improve the performance of national zakat management. Furthermore, the fundamental aspect that needs to be done is to maintain the transparency, accountability, and credibility of zakat institutions through risk management.
He added, these risks can be controlled and managed using funding procedures to identify, measure, monitor and control risks arising in the zakat institution. It was identified four types of risk in zakat institutions. These risks include reputation and lack of public trust, distribution risk, operational and sharia compliance risk, as well as risk transfers between countries.
